CROFT provided full architecture and engineering design services for the development of a new Network Operations Center (NOC) that provides Georgia Southern University with more reliable campus networking facilities to handle the increased volume of data, both now and in the future. CROFT’s resulting design solution resolved the shortcomings of the existing NOC facilities with improved power and HVAC capacity for future data loads, provision of redundancy levels to achieve sensible reliability, improved security and facility hardening, and improved support space for NOC operations. The project consisted of converting the existing 1,500 SF NOC facility into IT department support space and constructing a new 3,500 SF NOC facility near the existing primary NOC facility to serve as a core switching hub, primary computing center, and a second ISP point of presence.
