Embry Hills Church of Christ has been faithful to maximize their facilities as they grew over the years. When decision by leadership agreed to hire CROFT, their objective was to explore facility improvements and different masterplan options to best use their site, determining the most cost-effective solution as good stewards.
The process addressed their significant site restraints of terrain, detention, and underground rock. The design solution was a reflection of the site. The new sanctuary building terraced with the terrain, minimizing rock removal and not requiring significant vertical circulation. The linear pre-function space uniquely connects the site and the existing building and in between gives several access points to the radial, fan shaped new 700 seat sanctuary.
