CROFT provided programming, needs assessment and full architectural and engineering services for this $15,000,000 adaptive reuse of the 117,000 SF. This main objective of the project was to provide the Cobb County Police Department adequate current and future space for training cadets. Through the fortified entrance is the public gather space which allows access to a Community Room, Public Restrooms and a 300 Seat Tiered Auditorium that can be used for public events. This public side allows for activities to occur while maintaining a secure separation of the training and administration area. The Administrative Area includes Offices and Conference space for instructors and support staff, as well as Breakroom and Restrooms with showers for instructors. The training portion of this facility includes multi-functional Classroom spaces for cadet training. Two Tactical Labs were incorporated for the teaching and practicing the latest in tactics and techniques for defensive training. In addition, two simulation Training Studios were provided with the latest video technology and associated systems for controlled, Virtual Training Ranging in multiple simulated scenarios. Even more impactful is the street scape training provided in the new Tactical Village designed into the facility where realistic scenarios from patrol cars can be engaged.
