The new 60,000 SF Aviation Training Academy facility for Chattahoochee Technical College will operate at the Silver Comet Field of the Paulding County Northwest Atlanta Airport in Dallas, GA. This facility will allow the college to train students in Federal Aviation Administration (FFA) approved Aviation Maintenance Training Technology programs to diagnose problems and repair aircraft power plants and airframes.
The building consists of a three-story academic building with an adjacent, one-story pre-engineered metal building aircraft hangar. The vocational instruction labs that require direct adjacency to the hangar are on the ground floor. Additional lab space, classrooms and student collaborative breakout spaces are on the second floor and third floor.
